BOOKS:
by Patrick Lencioni
Review: Highly recommend for leaders and business owners. If you have a leadership team, read this book together. This is a great book to highlight and provides great examples to help understand HOW to do each part. If you decide to do the suggested quarterly meetings, find a business consultant who can attend and provide an outside perspective.
Because it has been on my list for a long time: How to Win Friends and Influence People
by Dale Carnegie
Review: This book should be read by every person no matter their age, profession, or experience/education level. This is great for college students as they begin their career but is extremely applicable for leaders who communicate with employees, business partners, and clients. We all need to be reminded of these simple principles.
To better understand self and others: The Four Tendencies
by Gretchen Rubin: Book & Quiz
Review: If you enjoy personality assessments (DISC, Enneagram, Strength Finders), you may want to read this book. It provides another perspective by focusing on inner and outer expectations. This book may help you understand other people and why they do (or not do) certain things. I took the 8 question assessment and discovered I am an Obliger. Though I think in my professional life, I am an Upholder.
For fun and vacation: Where'd You Go, Bernadette: A Novel
by Maria Semple
Review: I listened to this book on Audible on a road trip. A little hard to follow when listening. May have enjoyed reading the book more. This is a great book if you want to escape and focus on a fictional story instead of your busy life. May help you to unwind at the end of the day.

BOOKS:
About to finish: Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear By Elizabeth Gilbert
Review: I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys being creative and may need some motivation to pursue their creative endeavors. This is an encouraging, easy read, though a little repetitive at times. Despite this, I still found myself highlighting and scribbling quotes from this book on sticky notes so I don't forget some of Elizabeth's encouraging words.
For fun: Where the Crawdads Sing By Delia Owens
Review: This was an enjoyable read and I recommend for anyone who enjoys fiction, particularly mysteries and love stories. It is well-written and I found myself not wanting to put it down. I love the main character, Kya, and her beautiful connection with nature.
For working moms: Stretched Too Thin: How Working Moms Can Lose the Guilt, Work Smarter, and Thrive By Jessica N. Turner
Review: Highly recommend this book for working moms no matter your line of work. This book gave some simple tips for productivity and balance while also addressing the feelings of "mom guilt" and the thought that we must do it all. While some tips may be nothing new, she gives you permission to make yourself a priority when a majority of moms tend to do the opposite.
For professional development and encouragement: Work Party: How to Create and Cultivate the Career of your Dreams By Jaclyn Johnson
Review: No matter if you are a woman in a corporate job or working to own your own business, this is a refreshing must-read! I love how open and honest Jaclyn is. Her writing is funny and entertaining, while also being relatable. My favorite part? The book includes a useful guide to business jargon.

BOOKS:
Because Eloise recommended it: Everybody Always By Bob Goff
Review: This book came highly recommended to me and I recommend it to others who need perspective on loving others even when it's difficult to do so in this world. Other young professionals have recommended Bob Goff’s Love Does. Bob does incorporate his faith ... hopefully you will find it refreshing to read his story and perspective on life.
For Motivation: 13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don’t Do By Amy Morin
Review: This book title kind-of gives the target audience away! Definitely for strong WOMEN. This book instructs you on HOW to be a more confident woman who stands tall. If you are intentional about your mental well-being, this book is for you. When you are done with this book, you will become a more productive and adaptable person. This research-backed book is easy to read and every woman, no matter the age, should read it because it helps you see how to live your best life that you ALREADY possess.
For Encouragement: Mercy like Morning by Jane Johnson
Review: This was a perfect book for slow Sunday reading. Jane Johnson wrote this book for believers that were in a season of their life that required waiting or some kind of unknown. This book gives background on what the Bible teaches during this season and how to discover truth and cast all worries aside. My favorite part of this book was at the end when she shared a couple of studies and an action plan for those who wanted to dive deeper.
For Professional Development: The Way of the Shepherd: 7 Secrets to Managing Productive People by Kevin Leman and William Pentak
Review: Even though it is an easy and fast read, I suggest taking a chapter a week to dive into it and really pay attention to what it is telling you to do. If you are in a leadership role at any level, this book is for you. Each chapter provides a different perspective. I highly recommend reading it with a notebook handy so that you can jot down important concepts for future problems or issues.
